I’m Wild About these Shoes

Photo from Pinterest.

That is all I can say about that.

Could you see yourself wearing these or are these outside your comfort zone? What would your perfect outfit look like wearing these hot heels?

Red Hot Fun

Shown Here: Botanical necklace layered with Red Hots

If you have followed my blog for any length of time, you’ll see that I’ve shared with you how easy and on trend it is to layer your necklaces. Since before becoming a jewelry consultant I wouldn’t dream of wearing more than one necklace, I love the fact that I can learn to step outside my comfort zone and embrace this new way of accessorizing.

The pop of red is bright even to liven up your outfit and subtle enough not to overpower it. Red itself is a very powerful color so using it in little pops is a great way to put a pep in your step without looking like you are trying too hard. I recently saw a lady wearing an entire red suit. I can appreciate that fact that she wanted the bright pop of color, however; it made her seem like she was trying to hard or that she was wearing a female version of a santa suit. It was not the best way to wear a power suit.

What do you think of this set? Do you like the contrast between the neutral, matte silver finish of Botanical with the subtle color in Red Hots?

Leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

Fashion Inspiration | Lovely Neutrals

Can I just tell you that I love this look?! The neutral palette is appropriate for so many occasions. I can see this on the weekend catching a movie with my funny or even maybe a birthday party or dinner club with friends. I’m in love with camel colored anything. Pumps, handbags, shirts…it doesn’t matter. This look says,”I’m put together AND I have style.”

Pictured here: Bottega earrings, Monte Carlo bracelet & Villa necklace.

This set would look so great with the outfit inspiration above. I love that the sassiness comes in with the pop of animal print in the shoes. A lot of us love the animal print trend but are afraid to wear it without looking like we are trying too hard. This is the perfect way to do it.

I have a wrap dress from Target that I purchased a few years ago. I really love it and enjoy wearing it when I can. In the winter time, I love pairing it with tights and my tall black boots. This time, I paired it with some sassy heels and a red cardigan top. It was a perfect compromise and a look I plan to mimic again during this fall season.

A Few of My Favorite Things

I was asked to guest post on a friends blog and I wanted to share with my readers a few of my favorite things. I hope that this is the first of many guest posts. Let me know what you think!

Statement Necklaces

This is one, rather two, pieces of my current collection. For those of you that have not visited my blog previously, let me explain. I have been an Independent Consultant with Premier Designs for 7-1/2 years. I LOVE this job! I get to meet some really great ladies, have fun while showing off jewelry AND give it away free to Hostesses. It really is a great deal. This ensemble above is really our Global necklace with the new Golden Girl brooch/pin. Yes, that’s right a brooch. It has a magnetic bale on the back too so that you can flip it over the top of a chain or necklace you may already have and it’s got the ability to be worn on a denim jacket for instance, as a pin. I love convertible jewelry!

Cocktail Rings

The Traditions ring is another new item from our Fall catalog. I know that I should remain neutral where jewelry is concerned but it’s really difficult. I wear my product every day and since Premier Designs does not do any advertisement, I rely on myself to act as a walking billboard. So, in light of that, I try to wear all of the bold, fun pieces that my jewelry line offers. This is a great and attractive piece. I really enjoy the fact that I can wear it casually with a tank and denim capri’s or dress it up with a fun top, dress pants and really fun brown crocodile pumps. Either way is a winner in my book!

Monogrammed…ANYTHING!

I love monogrammed…well anything really. I see monogrammed mugs, purses, keychain and now I’m even seeing people with their monogrammed initials on their cars. I have to admit, I’m halfway tempted to follow suit. I’m not too much of a follower so I’m really trying to determine if I’m doing it just to be like everyone else or if I really want to put those stickers on my car for another reason. Either way, i don’t care. I love initial jewelry, monogrammed lunch bags (yes I have one of those too) and even organizers with catch phrases. The picture above is a jewelry roll from Thirty One. I bought it before I went on a trip to Texas to see the brand new line of Premier Designs jewelry.  I do try to support other direct sales companies when I can and it just so happens that Thirty One has enough of a variety of fun purses, totes and storage containers, that I’ve been able to feed this monogramming addiction.

Plum Polish

This plum polish is HEAVEN in my book. I used to only wear bright reds, pinks and oranges. Well, that was back in high school. Then I wore nothing but clear or sheer shades. Now, I seem to be drawn to the darker shades. This Zoya plum shade in Mikka is fast becoming a favorite of mine. I love the silver hologrammed streaks in it and when this is applied it really is a beautiful shade. Not daring to wear this dark color on your nails, then start on your toes and work your way up to it.  I’ve noticed that I tend to stick to lighter nail colors during the summer time and then gravitate towards the darker ones in the winter time.

Last but not least….

Magic in a Bottle

This little bottle is amazing. I love this stuff. It’s a great way to smooth out all of the fine lines that we tend to get as we get older. I tried a more expensive version of this product and found it to be a great addition to my make-up bag. You could imagine my surprise when I found this at a much more affordable price. I’ve been using it for a few months and plan to do so for many months to come.

Those are just a few of my favorite things. Did you see anything on my list that you might try out yourself? If so, leave me a note and let me know what you think!

New cut + New color = New me!

After months of debating about whether or not to an oldie but a goodie style, I finally decided to go for it. I’ve been letting my hair grow for quite a while now, but I am an emotional eater and recently learned, an emotional hair cutter. If I’m bored with my hair, I want to chop it off. For the past few months though, my stylist and good friend has helped me to not cut from boredom but rather try to find a style that would work for me. So, one month we did a new color, the next we’d cut come layers in it and so on. Yesterday though, I was ready to make the change and I’m really happy I did.

The color is darker and closer to my natural dark hair. I love my natural red highlights and you would think I would love them more when I try to play them up with color. However; that is not so. The red gets too brassy looking and I’m sorry, but if I see noticeable roots I feel like I need to color it.

So, the above angled longer bob is the final result. I think I’ll keep it here for a while. Well until my stylist talks me into letting it grow again. =)

JEWELRY: Fiesta set. You can’t see it but there is one pop of orange stone that is on the necklace and I love wearing it with this vibrant orange 3/4 length sweater.

Are you looking for a summer style? If so, tell me about it!

Trends | Shellac Manicure

This past Friday, I experienced something wonderful. A Shellac manicure! I had heard about it and a few friends of mine had tried it and I thought why not! I love to do my own nails but considering how rough I am at work moving computer boxes around, I thought this would help my manicures last longer than just a day or two. Plus, because I am a jeweler (at my fun job) and showing rings, bracelets and looking put together, I thought this would be a great idea to try.

I researched the colors and options before my appointment so that I could be ready to go once I arrived. There is nothing more that I dread than going in for a mani/pedi and having to pick out 1 color out of hundreds. After awhile, they all start to look the same to me. I thought for this first time, I would go for a color but in the end, as you see, I opted for the classic french manicure. The prices were reasonable and the girl I found charged less for a color manicure than anywhere else. I thought that in itself was worth checking out. So far I’m really happy with it. It’s day 4 and I’m still chip free. Yay!

I’ll keep you posted on how it goes. If this really can last 2 weeks (or longer) as is advertised, I’m sold!!

Have you ever had a shellac manicure? If not, would you be willing to try it out?

Main Event

I have to admit that this necklace may not look like a lot to you in the pic, but it is a truly awesome statement necklace and in my opinion, a must have. Now, don’t look at me in this pic. I look nothing short of awful. I was having a very bad hair day which seems to be the norm these days. And this picture really does not show me in a good light. However; I like the necklace and I love the color purple cardigan I’m wearing and I wanted to show this off.

The beauty of this necklace is that you wear it long and loose like I’ve chosen to do here, or you can twist the strands together for a more streamlined look. The other thing that I like to do is to leave it loose, but attach a brooch to the side of the necklace for a completely different look all together. Lastly, you can unlatch the lobster claw closure, and select one strand to wear behind your head creating a more vertical, longer look. It’s amazing that this one necklace can give you 4 different looks. I’ll try to post the other looks in a future post so that you can see just what I mean.

Main Event is a must have…what do you think about it?

Oh and if you’ve not checked out my giveaway, you really should. It’s easy to enter and someone will win. It might as well be you!

Sassy Skirt

I am in love with this skirt! I found it on sale at JCPenney. I love everything about it. From the olive-green color to the high waist style to the detail on the waist. It was very comfortable to wear working all day long at the office and will be something to pair with Oxford shirts tucked in or a tank with a shrug or even a stylish pashmina.

What do you think of this high waist style?
