Blue Is My Favorite Color

It seems that I could wear and talk about this Blue Lagoon necklace all day long! This past weekend was another hot one here in Tennessee and after spending a couple of hours in the heat sweltering, I decided to take this self-portrait. I was very happy with the result too. Las week I decided to cut more length off on my already shrinking hairline. For me, shorter is better.

I love the asymmetrical bob and I was actually in on this trend, before Victoria Beckham made it popular. So, I like to think that I was the trendsetting on that one!  ha! I’m enjoying my shorter locks and I’m confident that it will put the sass back in to this sassy jeweler.

What’s your favorite style? Long, short, curly, straight, up, down, bun or pony tail?

A Little Bit of Whimsy

I love the new Whimsical necklace. It has an antiqued gold finish with square vintage-looking posies that sport crystal centers. This necklace is long enough to double since worn long like this, it measures 36″.  It’s nice to have some versatility with your necklace. I paired it with a rust colored tank, khaki shrug and dark denim capris. Of course I felt pretty cute that day but it also happened to be moving day for our office. So, I inevitably changed into my khaki shorts and t-shirt so I could pack up my desk things and computer and head to our new office. We renovated an existing building and pretty much tripled our space. We went from almost a 50 person office tucked away in the basement level of a building in a cube-farm style, to lots of space to roam and grow. It’s been awesome!

Oh before I go…check out this awesome new ring in our line! LOVE!!!!

Couldn’t you just see yourself wearing this awesome new ring? I’ve tried to wear it as much as possible!!

Botanical

Botanical. It’s an extremely affordable and versatile necklace from our awesome Premier Designs Fall 2011 catalog. I chose to wear a simple black shirt with white capris to show off Botanical. Can you believe it’s just $27? I have a feeling this is going to be a top-selling item.

Here is a little bit closer of a look at it.

Can you see Botanical fitting into your wardrobe?

Pantone Colors | Fall 2011

Want to know what’s going to be hot during this Fall season? Well, wait no more! Designers will be paying close attention to texture, contrast and color for fall 2011. You will see lots of them pairing menswear with feminine twists, warm prints intermixed with cool metals, thereby creating an intriguing balance between colors.

Bamboo, a surprising fall hue, brings a warm, exotic flavor to the mix this season. Bamboo is a bright, standout yellow with subtle green undertones making this a great addition to this fall’s wardrobe landscape. Try pairing Bamboo with Phlox, Teal and Honeysuckle for a dramatic color contrast. Jewelry: Chestnut, Mocha, Soleil

Emberglow, is reminiscent of the warmth of a glowing fire. Combine Emberglow with Coffee Liqueúr for a classic look, or with Honeysuckle for something a bit more retro. Add a spark with shoes or a handbag in Emberglow, or perhaps a patterned scarf combining purpled Phlox or Deep Teal. Jewelry: Global to play on the deep teal tones or Grapevine to play up Phlox.

Offering a sense of continuity from spring is the dynamic Honeysuckle. This shade is a playful, reddish pink that works with lots of other colors in the Fall palette, especially staples like Coffee Liqueúr and Nougat. To add some intensity, pair it with complementary Bamboo. Jewelry: Perfectly Pink, Blush, Petals

Phlox, is a magical, deep purple shade and an outstanding statement when worn on its own. Add Phlox to this season’s neutrals to create a bit of drama, or combine it with Cedar, Deep Teal or Coffee Liqueúr for something bold and fashion forward. To add even more excitement, pair Phlox with Honeysuckle or Bamboo against a Cedar background – a combination inspired by Mother Nature. Jewelry: Rhapsody, Grapevine

Cedar is a versatile, mid-tone neutral green. It is a natural when paired with Deep Teal, and sophisticated when worn with Phlox or Orchid Hush. Deep Teal, a strong, blue-toned green, suggests ocean depths and the color of the sky as daylight descends into darkness. A great standard when used with Cedar, its color-wheel neighbor, Deep Teal is also a unique counterpoint to Honeysuckle. Jewelry: Emerald Isle, Soleil

Where would our wardrobe be without our go-to neutrals? Rich, decadent Coffee Liqueúr brings a sense of and a richness to fall, and is a smart alternative to basic black. A deliciously warm camel tan, Nougat is tastefully embellished by Phlox, Emberglow or Honeysuckle. Orchid Hush, a unique tone of gray with complex orchid undertones, blends well with any other color in the palette. Quarry, a reliable medium gray, remains, as always, a practical, dependable staple. Jewelry: ANY!

Wow Factor

20110723-054933.jpg

I am a sucker for wedding shows. I love Say Yes To The Dress, Four Weddings and my new favorite Amasale Girls. I don’t know what it is about those shows. Maybe it’s the tradition of it all or that they represent the beginning of your life together with your husband or maybe it’s because that is the day you will look your very best that keeps me watching. I’m not sure.

I was pleasantly surprised to catch up on my DVR shows and see the above bride really going against the grain with her jewelry. She totally could have gone the route most brides go down with their jewelry. Heirloom pearls or diamond drop earrings. But no, she did a statement necklace. Looks strangely familiar though. Don’t you think?
